The World Bank has reported that Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is the second fastest growing economy in the region. The report indicates that this country has experienced consistent economic growth over the past three years and the growth projection for this year is expected to reach 4.9 per cent.

Gonsalves, in his capacity as chair of CARICOM’s Council of Ministers for National Security and Law Enforcement (CONSLE), addressed the Committee on Hemispheric Security of the Organization of American States (OAS), calling for urgent and coordinated action to address crime and violence in the caribbean.
