Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves contends that there has been remarkable economic progress in this country over the past four years.

Speaking on radio recently, Dr. Gonsalves said that despite the challenges of natural disasters and the Covid-19 pandemic, this country has managed to see consistent economic growth.

“We have seen a significant uptick in the economy, wages and salaries, more jobs, increased wealth, and generally speaking, remittances. From 2022 to now, the economy has grown in the aggregate by more than 20%, which is more than one-fifth. We are using the nominal numbers, and that's significant,” Dr. Gonsalves said.

Recent reports from the World Bank have shown that other than Guyana, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is the second-fastest-growing economy in the region.
