The new Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Mr. Calvin C.H. Ho presented credentials to H. E. Susan Dougan, OBE, Governor-General’s Deputy on April 10th, 2018, at the Government House.
A high level delegation from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines headed by the Hon. Sir Louis Straker, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce visited the Republic of China (Taiwan) during the period March 24th - 30th, 2018.
Thirty-nine years after the last eruption of the La Soufriere volcano, the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), the Community Disaster Risk Reduction Fund (CDRRF), and the University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre (SRC) are continuing efforts to prepare communities closest to the volcano to handle potential risks.

Stakeholders and members of the public are expected to convene at the Sandy Bay Government Primary School on 6th April, at 4:00 p.m. for the official launch of the Volcano-ready Communities in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Project, which aims to increase awareness of volcanic and multi hazard risk at the community level in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
