The National Emergency Management Organisation is advising the public that the La Soufriere volcano is NOT erupting. According to Professor Richard Robertson, Lead Scientist from the Seismic Research Centre, University of the West Indies, the La Soufriere Volcano is not erupting and there is no increased activity at the volcano.
Ambassador Calvin Ho handed over 30 sets of oxygen concentrators on behalf of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Tuesday, 10th August, 2021. The Medicinal Cannabis Authority, at its headquarters in Rivulet, hosted a media tour on Thursday, 12th August, 2021, of the newly completed Analytical Service Provider Facility where locally produced medicinal cannabis products will be tested for potency and safety. The lab is the gateway to export for regional and international markets. This completes a development cycle that has included the design, construction, and outfitting of the purpose-built laboratory; the first of its kind in the Eastern Caribbean.
Persons receiving Public Assistance in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines may soon benefit from an improvement in that service if a pilot programme currently being conducted by the Ministry of National Mobilization, in conjunction with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the Bank of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (BOSVG) proves successful.
