Close to five hundred (500) residents of Chateaubelair and Fitzhughes are scheduled to return to their homes Friday, 23rd July, 2021, after months of residing in various shelters due to the eruptions in April of the La Soufriere Volcano.

Persons in the red and orange zones who were the beneficiaries of food assistance as a result of being displaced by eruptions at La Soufriere continue to receive assistance even though many of them have returned home.

Three (3) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and forty-six (146) samples processed on Tuesday, July 20th, 2021, resulting in a positivity rate of 2.1%. Two (2) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and eighty-seven (187) cases processed on Wednesday, July 21st, 2021, resulting in a positivity rate of 1.1%. 

The Minister and staff of the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture wish to extend sincerest condolences to the family of the late Legendary Winston ‘Soso’ Lockhart, who passed away on Sunday 18th July, 2021.  ‘Winston Soso’, was a Calypsonian icon for several decades, winning the first Soca Monarch title in 1996.

Three (3) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and seventy-two (172), samples processed on Monday, July 19th 2021, resulting in a positivity rate of 1.7%.
