Efforts to improve food security in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) have been further strengthened with the launch of a Food Terminal at the former La Croix Palletization Plant in Marriaqua.
In just 4 months of operations of the Rainforest Seafood Caribbean’s processing plant at Calliaqua, an estimated 3 million dollars in purchases have been acquired from over approximately 150 fishermen across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Vincentian divers will have a new safety net when the Government procures a Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy chamber; this allows for divers who experience decompression sickness or “Bends” to be treated locally.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment wishes to advise the general public that as part of the its mosquito control programme for the adult Aedes aegypti mosquito, the Insect Vector Control Unit will be conducting fogging operations in the following areas and time on the island of Bequia.
