Government will place an even greater emphasis on Technical and Vocational Education. Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, who recently assumed the portfolio for Tertiary Education, stressed the need for a major thrust in technical/vocational education "beyond what we have now....in order to provide the manpower for the paradigm shift in the economy".
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment wishes to advise the general public that as part of the its mosquito control programme for the adult Aedes aegypti mosquito, the Insect Vector Control Unit will be conducting fogging operations in the following areas commencing at 5:00 p.m. daily on the islands of Saint Vincent and Bequia.
A tropical wave with a broad area of moisture trailing behind of it is forecast to produce roughly 50-60mm of rainfall across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines by Thursday afternoon according to model guidance.
The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services continues to closely monitor an area of disturbed weather located near longitude 56° West, or about 345 miles (555 kilometers) east-southeast of the Windward Islands.
