Thursday, 19th August, 2021, marks the first anniversary of the passing of our colleague, friend and founder, Evans Bernard John. In commemoration, The Toronto SVG Support Group (TTSVGSG) announces the establishment of an annual education bursary, The EB John Memorial Bursary. The bursary will be awarded each year to a National of Saint Vincent and The Grenadines pursuing post secondary studies in the Communication Arts or related field at the Open Campus of the University of the West Indies.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment wishes to advise the general public that as part of the its mosquito control programme for the adult Aedes aegypti mosquito, the Insect Vector Control Unit will be conducting fogging operations in the following areas commencing at 5:00 p.m. daily on the island of Saint Vincent.

The National Emergency Management Organisation is advising the public that the La Soufriere volcano is NOT erupting. According to Professor Richard Robertson, Lead Scientist from the Seismic Research Centre, University of the West Indies, the La Soufriere Volcano is not erupting and there is no increased activity at the volcano.

Ambassador Calvin Ho handed over 30 sets of oxygen concentrators on behalf of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Tuesday, 10th August, 2021. These items were received by Mr. Cuthbert Knights, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Environment.

Education stakeholders including Special Education teachers and Education Officers have received training in Teaching for Neurodiversity: Building Inclusive Teaching and Learning Classrooms.
