Nurses from various sectors within the health-care sector of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines gathered at the old Treasury Building site to commemorate International Nurses Day on Friday, May 12th, 2023.
A cohort of participants, who reside in the red zone and were negatively impacted by the April 2021 volcanic eruptions, have embarked on the Farm Skills Internship (FSI) Programme – a sub-component of the Volcanic Eruption Emergency Project (VEEP) – which was launched officially on May 2, 2023.
The Health Services Sub Committee wishes to advise the public that the WHO’s International Health Regulations Emergency Committee held its 15th meeting on COVID-19 on Thursday, May 4th and concluded that a public health emergency of international concern or PHEIC relative to COVID-19 no longer exists as COVID-19 does not currently meet the requirements to be considered a Global Health Emergency.
In preparation for the 2023 hurricane season, the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and the World Food Programme (WFP) will conduct a training workshop on the use of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency‘s Logistics Support System (CLS) from May 8-12, 2023.
