Eleven CARICOM countries have signed on to the African Export-Import (AFREXIM) Bank which has currently established a presence in the Caribbean through Barbados.
A major meeting of the 16 Small Island Developing States (SIDS) of the Caribbean begins in Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, today, to assess development progress and agree on priorities for next year’s United Nations conference on SIDS in Antigua and Barbuda.

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS), jointly with the government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are organizing the High-level Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Caribbean Region to be held from 8 - 10 August in Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
