During the period July 15 to July 17, 2026, the Foreign Trade Department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs hosted the OECS Integrated Risk Management Framework Training at the Methodist Church Hall.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cadet Force welcomes Barbados Cadet Corps for historic 90th Anniversary Camp
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cadet Force (SVGCF) is proud to announce the successful commencement of its 90th Anniversary Camp, a landmark event commemorating nine decades of dedicated service in developing the nation’s youth through discipline, leadership, patriotism, and community service.
As part of the celebrations, the SVGCF welcomed a 16-member contingent from the Barbados Cadet Corps, which accepted the Force’s invitation to participate in the anniversary camp. The Barbadian contingent arrived in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Saturday, 11th July 2026, and has since joined local cadets and officers in a comprehensive programme of military, leadership, educational, and cultural activities.
The camp brought together cadets from all operational units of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cadet Force, representing communities across the country. Participating units included:
- North Leeward Unit
- Barrouallie Unit
- Kingstown West Unit
- Kingstown East Unit
- Georgetown Unit
- Marriaqua Unit
- Bequia Unit
- St. Clair Dacon Secondary School Unit
- Marine Unit
- Search and Rescue Medical Unit (SARMU)
- SVG Cadet Force Band
The participation of cadets from every unit reflects the unity, diversity, and national reach of the Cadet Force, while the inclusion of the Barbados Cadet Corps underscores the strong regional partnerships that continue to strengthen youth development throughout the Caribbean.
Throughout the camp, participants engaged in a challenging and rewarding programme that included leadership development, drill, fieldcraft, weapons training, physical training, disaster preparedness, mass casualty, small-engine operation, first aid, survival/adventurous training, team-building exercises, cultural exchange, and community service. These activities were designed to develop confident, disciplined, and responsible young leaders while fostering lifelong friendships and regional cooperation.
Public invited to 90th Anniversary Sports Day
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cadet Force invited members of the public to attend its 90th Anniversary Sports Day on Saturday, 18th July 2026, at the Arnos Vale Playing Field, which commenced at 9:00 a.m.
The Sports Day showcased the athletic ability, teamwork, discipline, and competitive spirit of cadets from across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, together with the visiting Barbados Cadet Corps. Spectators experienced an exciting programme of track and field events, relays, novelty competitions, military-style challenges, and spirited displays of camaraderie.
Families, alumni, former cadets, supporters, and the wider public were encouraged to come out and celebrate this historic milestone while supporting the outstanding young men and women who continue to uphold the proud traditions of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cadet Force.
The 90th Anniversary celebrations are being observed under the theme: “90 Years of Discipline, Patriotism and Honour: Celebrating Our Past, Strengthening Our Present, and Shaping Our Future.”
As the SVGCF celebrates this remarkable milestone, it remains committed to empowering the nation’s youth through leadership, discipline, citizenship, and service, while continuing to build partnerships that contribute to national and regional development.
The commandant, officers, NCOs, instructors, volunteers, cadets, and the organising committee express their sincere appreciation to the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, sponsors, parents, alumni, partner organisations, and the general public for their continued support over the past 90 years.
