The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment wishes to advise the general public that as part of the its mosquito control programme for the adult Aedes aegypti mosquito, the Insect Vector Control Unit will be conducting fogging operations in the following areas commencing at 5:00 p.m. daily on the island of Saint Vincent.
One hundred and thirteen (113) COVID-19 positive cases were reported from six hundred and sixty-six (666) samples processed on Thursday, September 30th, 2021, resulting in a positivity of 17%.
In view of the international attention and ongoing debate regarding the drug Ivermectin being a potential “miracle drug” in the treatment or prevention of COVID-19, the Office of the Drug Inspector in a bid to promote the rational use of medicines through regulated importation as well as proper prescribing and dispensing of pharmaceutical products, advises the public to be wary of unproven claims of the drug’s viability in respect of the current pandemic.
The Ministry of Education will be implementing a phased reopening of schools from Monday, 4th October, 2021, occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic.
