Two (2) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and twelve (112) samples processed on Sunday, 8th August, 2021, resulting in a positivity rate of 1.8%. The two (2) cases are imported cases from St. Lucia and the United States of America. Five (5) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and twenty (125) samples processed on Monday, 9th August, 2021, resulting in a positivity rate of 4%.

The United Kingdom (UK) Government has donated fourteen thousand (14,000) doses of the Oxford Astra Zeneca Vaccines to the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to assist in the fight against Covid-19. The vaccines arrived in the state on Friday, 6th August, 2021, at the Argyle International Airport.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment was informed this morning by CARPHA of the COVID-19 sequencing results of samples received at CARPHA on July 27th, 2021. One sample detected a variant of concern (VOC) – B.1.617.2 - Delta variant.
