The Office of the Governor-General is located in – and often referred to as – Government House.
It is responsible for:
- The provision of official services to the Governor-General and his/her household
- The provision of official services to government agencies and organisations
- Arranging the Governor-General’s official activities at home and overseas
- The Governor-General’s correspondence
- Liaising with Buckingham Palace on honours, awards and diplomatic credentials
- Liaising with the Office of the Prime Minister on all honours and awards
- Administrative arrangements for conferment of honours and awards
