Saint Vincent and the Grenadines joins the Caribbean in celebrating Tourism Month from 1st – 30th November with the slogan ‘Tourism is Everyone’s Business, Live it, Love it, Embrace it’.
Friday 3rd November was designated by the Cabinet of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as Dominica Solidarity Day. To this end, a special ceremony was held on the grounds of the Financial Complex to commemorate the Commonwealth of Dominica’s 39th Anniversary of Independence.
The Arts and Humanities Research Council, United Kingdom, under the Translating Cultures/Care for the Future Innovation Awards on International Development, held a two-day workshop on Reading, Writing and Narrating Volcano Landscape & Hazard, in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Organization, (NEMO) in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Community Disaster Risk Reduction Fund (CDRRF), Project, of the Caribbean Development Bank, hosted a two-day workshop on Effective Community Engagement at the Jewel’s Dunn’s River Beach Resort in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, Jamaica on 30th and 31st October.
The University of the West Indies (UWI), Seismic Research Centre, has recently accessed financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) under the Community Disaster Risk Reduction Fund towards the implementation of the Volcano-Ready Community Project in Saint Vincent and The Grenadines.
