The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment today, Friday 2nd October, confirms that a 30 year old female is the sixth (6th), person to die from complications of Dengue Fever. The patient, who had a pre-existing condition, was admitted to the ICU in a critical condition and died during the evening of Thursday, 1st October, 2020.

Following consensus derived from a meeting of pharmacy, medical and nursing professionals, on Tuesday evening, (September 29, 2020),  the Pharmaceutical Services, Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, is advocating the use of papaya leaf extract in the management of Dengue Fever. This is based on evidence that the plant extract has proven to be effective and, therefore, useful in the improvement of patient outcomes in persons affected by the Dengue infection.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment confirms that a 40-year-old female of McCarthy is the fifth (5th) person to die from complications of Dengue Fever. The patient reported feeling unwell for one week and presented to the Accident and Emergency Department on Wednesday September 30, 2020; and was admitted to the ICU in a critical condition.

Preliminary results of the August 2020 Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education Certificate Examinations (CSEC), were received on September 23, 2020, in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. This year, 2425 candidates were registered, of which, 856 were private candidates, and 1569 were school candidates.
