Welcome to the official website of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

On Friday, 11th May, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, showcased several specialties from areas within the health sector at the old Treasury building site in Kingstown.

Areas highlighted included Nursing, Hospital, Community, and Mental Health services, Nursing Education, from the Saint Vincent the Grenadines Community College, Division of Nursing Education; and other organisations such as the SVG Nurses Association, SVG Retired Nurses Association, SVG General Nursing Council, and the SVG Diabetic and hypertensive Association.

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every 12th May, the Anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth. The International Council of Nurses (ICN), the global voice of nursing, has designated the theme for this year as "Nurses, a voice to lead, Health is a Human Right".

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, through the initiative of the Chief Nursing Officer, Ms. Peggy Da Silva, joined in celebrating this event.

Nurses and healthcare personnel were on hand to provide information, as well as offer various services to the general public.

The public responded well to the free services offered, such as foot care, blood pressure and blood sugar screening, assessment for anxiety and depression, and others.
