The Saint Vincent Boys' Grammar School and Girls' High School, jointly held their road relay events today, Tuesday, 6th February.
The events started and ended in the vicinity of both schools. The relays comprised of 6 legs, and took a route through Cane Garden.
For the Girls' High School, Staff House (Green), which won the last 5 consecutive road relays, was dethroned by Moffett House (Yellow), who won the race in a time of 44 minutes and 24 seconds. In second position was Head Mistress House (Blue), who finished in a time of 44 minutes and 44 seconds. Staff House placed third with a time of 46 minutes and 17 seconds, while Grimble House (Red), finished 4th with a time of 47 minutes and 53 seconds. The record for this event is a time of 43 minutes and 56 seconds, which was set by Staff House in 2016.
Reeves House (Blue), of the Saint Vincent Grammar School completed their treble, by winning their third straight road relay title in a time of 50 minutes and 39 seconds. Second place went to Crick House (Red); Lopey House (Yellow) placed third, while Miller House (Green), finished fourth. The record for this event is a time of 50 minutes and 30 seconds, which was set by Crick House in 2014.
Both schools would also jointly host their annual sports event on Wednesday, 14th February, at the Arnos Vale Playing Field, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Staff House, who won for the last 5 consecutive years, is the defending champions for the Girls' High School, while Lopey House is the defending champions for the Boys' Grammar School.
