Welcome to the official website of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment and the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) will conduct an Incident Command System (ICS) Training Workshop during the period 29th -31st August, 2017.

The Incident Command System Workshop is funded by PAHO, through the Global Health Canada. The workshop mainly targets senior personnel who are involved in Emergency Response, Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) Management at the National Level and persons who manage their own EOCs.

The main objectives of the workshop are:

  • To introduce participants to the concepts and principles of ICS as an effective system for managing emergencies.
  • To help participants to identify where their agency fits into the ICS structure and to have a better understanding of how the ICS structure expands or contracts to meet the needs of an incident.
  • To identify the kinds and types of resources that are encountered at incidents and to describe how and why the resources are managed.
  • To outline the steps that should be taken to prepare for, participate in and demobilize from an incident.

The Incident Command System Workshop will take place at NEMO’s Conference Room, Old Montrose, commencing at 8:30 am each day.

Additional Information:

The ICS is a standardized management tool for meeting the demands of small or large emergency or nonemergency situations. It is designed to enable effective and efficient incident management by integrating a combination of facilities, equipment, personnel, procedures, and communication operating within a common organizational structure.
