The Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) will, on Monday August 28th, donate a quantity of 10 school buses to the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

At a Press Conference held on August 8th, Prime Minister, Dr. The Hon. Ralph Gonsalves announced that the 10 buses had arrived in time for the start of the new school term in September. He explained that the 10 buses will be leased to persons to operate and transport children on several routes, at the opening of the school term on Monday September 4th, 2017.  

Persons wishing to lease the school buses had until Monday August 21st to submit “Expression of Interest for the Lease of School buses” to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport, Works, Urban Development and Local Government

Meanwhile, Monday’s handing over ceremony will also feature the launch of 24 agricultural machineries under a special project in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation.

Prime Minister, Dr. The Hon. Ralph Gonsalves will deliver the Feature Address and there will also be an address by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), H.E. Amb. Der-li Liu.

Other addresses will come from Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation, Hon. Saboto Caesar; and Minister of Transport, Works, Urban Development and Local Government, Hon. Julian Francis.

The handing over ceremony takes place on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the E.T. Joshua Parking Lot at 3 p.m.
