Barrouallie Secondary School dominated the opening competition of the 2026-2027 SVG school sports season, when they topped both categories of the 2026 Inter-Secondary School Cross Country run, held at the decommissioned Arnos Vale Airport Strip on Thursday, September 24th.

The Barrouallie Secondary School lasses cumulatively ended the Female Cross-Country run in the shortest time; one hour, 33 minutes, 06.33 seconds to take gold. The Girls' High School’s five female runners ended second, in a total time of one hour, 43 minutes, 30.75 seconds, while the Canouan Secondary School finished third, after their female participants completed the course in one hour, 47 minutes, 21.50 seconds.

The male competitors from the Barrouallie Secondary School were not to be outdone, and followed suit with their female counterparts by topping the Male Inter-Secondary School Cross Country Category. Their five male runners completed the three laps of the course in one hour, 56 minutes, 24.38 seconds.

The Georgetown Secondary placed second in the male category in one hour, 58 minutes, 04.08 seconds, while Troumaca Ontario Secondary took the third spot in two hours, 3 minutes, 19.07 seconds.

Following this pleasing commencement to the 2026-2027 schools’ sports calendar, the attention firmly turns to the 2026 SVG Subway Unique Touch Soccer Inter-Secondary School Football Championship that kicks off on Saturday, September 26th, at the Cumberland Playing Field.

St. Martins Secondary and Bethel High School will lock horns from 2:00 p.m. in the junior division, after which Barrouallie Secondary School and Troumaca Ontario Secondary will clash from 3:30 p.m. in the senior division.
