Welcome to the official website of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines officially joined the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) on September 23, 2026, during the Fourth CVF Leaders' Meeting on Development Reset and Cooperation. The meeting was held at the United Nations Headquarters as part of the 81st High-Level Meetings.

Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Godwin Friday addressed the high-level gathering to mark the nation's formal entry into the coalition. The session, bringing together heads of state, ministers, and development finance institutions, was chaired by Barbados Prime Minister H.E. Mia Amor Mottley in her capacity as Chair of the CVF.

During the session, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines aligned with the Forum's urgent agenda to reform the global climate finance architecture, focusing on three critical objectives:

  • The V2V Compact: Advancing the Vulnerability to Viability framework to secure expanded access to affordable, long-term climate finance for developing nations.
  • The Lifeline Fund: Advocating for the immediate operationalization of rapid-response liquidity mechanisms designed to disburse funds the moment severe climate shocks strike.
  • Clean Electrotech Transition: Accelerating the shift to clean energy technologies as a primary engine for job creation, economic resilience, and shared prosperity.

Membership in the Climate Vulnerability Forum represents a strategic step for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in securing the financial and structural frameworks necessary to combat the escalating threats of climate change. By joining forces with other climate-vulnerable economies, the nation strengthens its capacity to negotiate for systemic development resets and immediate financial lifelines on the global stage.

Founded in November 2009 near Malé, Maldives, ahead of COP15, the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) is an international partnership of developing nations hardest hit by climate change. The Forum gives a collective voice to vulnerable countries, pushes for strict limits on global warming, and advocates for fairer global finance, helping nations secure affordable long-term loans, fast disaster funding, and a path toward lasting climate resilience.
