Welcome to the official website of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Transformation, in partnership with the International Trade Centre (ITC), hosted a Peanut Yield Evaluation and Distribution Ceremony on Monday, June 22nd, 2026, supporting farmers from across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and promoting a sustainable peanut industry.

The distribution forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen agricultural value chains, improve food and nutrition security, and create new economic opportunities for farmers through a sustainable peanut industry.

Rohan McDonald

Addressing the gathering, Rohan McDonald, Agricultural Diversification Officer, said peanuts are an attractive crop for farmers because they mature within 120 to 150 days, providing a relatively quick return on investment. He noted that strong consumer demand for peanuts throughout Saint Vincent and the Grenadines makes the crop a dependable source of income.
