Fourth-form students were encouraged to make meaningful contributions using the resources available to them during the Rotary Club of St. Vincent’s 25th Annual George Phillips Award Ceremony, held at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.
Delivering the feature address, businessman and chef Xavier Stapleton urged students to embrace the ceremony’s theme, “Excellence in Every Step,” and apply it throughout their educational journeys and daily lives.

Stapleton reflected on the importance of dedication and personal growth. He encouraged students to remain focused on their goals and to make the most of every opportunity, regardless of the resources at their disposal.
Stapleton also acknowledged the vital role played by parents and guardians in supporting students’ achievements. He commended their commitment and sacrifices, noting that their encouragement and guidance help lay the foundation for future success.
Highlighting the qualities needed to achieve long-term goals, Stapleton reminded students that perseverance, hard work, and determination remain essential ingredients for building a bright and successful future.
The George Phillips Award recognizes outstanding fourth-form students across St. Vincent and the Grenadines for excellence in academics, leadership, discipline, and extracurricular achievement.
