The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) within the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Information Technology and the Questelles Operation Center within the Ministry of National Security received significant upgrades compliments the Republic of China on Taiwan. The work was done through the Enhancing Public Safety with Intelligent Video Analytics Project.
The e-Government Unit Training Room saw upgrades exceeding EC$100,000 while over EC$300,000 has been invested to enhance the capabilities of the Questelles Operation Center.

There was an official handing over of the renovated training room on Wednesday, 22nd January, 2025 which saw remarks by Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan H.E. Fiona H.C. Fan, Director of the Information Technology Services Division Mr. Carlon Browne, and Assistant Director of the eGovernment Unit Mrs. Simone Joseph-Ollivierre.
In her remarks, Ambassador Fan highlighted the importance of coming together to celebrate the progress achieved through a shared vision of modernization and innovation, which continues to strengthen the foundations of Information Community Technology and Education in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. "As the world evolves, the ability to adapt and thrive in a digitally connected environment has become a hallmark of progress. This journey toward digital transformation is not merely about adopting technology; it is about using it to empower individuals, enhance learning experiences, and improve operational efficiency."

Speaking of the upgrades taking place at the Questelles Operation Center, the ambassador states that "These updates have transformed the center into a robust hub for digital operations, supporting the government’s capacity to manage information effectively and paving the way for innovative solutions to future challenges."
Director of the Information Technology Services Division, Mr. Carlon Browne emphasized how pleased he was to witness the completion of yet another milestone in the collaborative partnership between the government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the government of the Republic of China on Taiwan. "This newly upgraded training facility marks a significant step forward in our commitment to learning, innovation, and growth. We can now offer more advanced and complex ICT training programmes across the various ministries and departments within the Public Sector. The hope is that it will be a hub for collaboration, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence. The support we have received from Taiwan through Ambassador Fan and her diplomatic team has been phenomenal. I look forward to more collaborative projects with them as we navigate the landscape for ICT development in SVG" he stated.
