Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves made a tour of the Holiday Inn Express on Thursday, 12th September, 2024 ahead of its opening which is now scheduled for November 2024.
Dr. Gonsalves said he is impressed with the hotel’s construction, which has some unique features when compared to other Holiday Inn hotels across the region.
The Prime Minister added that with the opening of the hotel, there will be more employment opportunities for those people trained in the hospitality sector as well as the spill-off effects in other sectors including entrepreneurship, agriculture and transport.
The 93-room Holiday Inn Express hotel is being built by Trinidadian company NH Construction. Along with the Cobblestone Inn, it will be the Government’s second state-owned hotel.
The project is funded through a grant from the CARICOM Development Fund along with an investment by the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines of approximately $52 Million.
The Holiday Inn Express is located approximately 8 miles outside of capital Kingstown, is in close proximity to the Argyle International Airport, the Hospitality Training Institute and the Sir Vincent Beache athletic stadium.
