Welcome to the official website of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Current and prospective Vincentian students at the University of the West Indies are expected to benefit from a reduction in the fees paid to the university from September.

This was disclosed recently by Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves at a press conference last week to announce USAID to the relief and recovery effort here in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

According to Prime Minister Gonsalves, the planned reduction in fees to Vincentian students is part of the contribution of the University towards the overall relief efforts after the recent volcanic eruptions in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Prime Minister Gonsalves disclosed that UWI vice-chancellor Hilary Beckles has indicated that students studying via face-to-face mode will have access to a fifty percent discount on tuition and accommodation fees and students pursuing online studies will obtain a twenty-five percent decrease in fees. This reduction will be applicable at all UWI campuses.

According to Prime Minister Gonsalves, the reductions maybe higher based on a case by case situation, adding that assistance also extends to students who remain at the Cave Hill Campus during the summer vacation.

Any student wishing to return to Saint Vincent, whose residence is within the red zone and who has to be quarantined will also be given some assistance for that purpose by the government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
