The Director of the Environmental Management Department, Ms. Janeel Miller-Findlay, has welcomed the launch of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines component of the Japan Caribbean Climate Change Partnership Project. The project is being carried out by the United Nations Development Program, through its sub-regional office for Barbados and the OECS.
The Government of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines (GOSVG), has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), in an amount equivalent to US$12.647 million towards the cost of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Development Project to support the continued transformation and responsiveness of the TVET system as a vehicle for workforce development, consistent with St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ (SVG), human resource development needs, and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment advises that there are twenty (20) new laboratory confirmed cases of the Zika virus infection from samples collected between 23rd May and 6th June, here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Included in these cases is one pregnant woman.
