The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment will host a one day symposium on the Heberprot-P programme for diabetic clients and their caregivers on Thursday, 2nd June, 2016, at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown, beginning at 9:00 am.

The symposium is designed to provide support to clients and their caregivers.

The topics to be discussed are:

  • Heberprot-P and diabetic foot treatment
  • Medication and diabetes
  • Dietary Management and diabetes
  • Diabetic footcare

The session will be facilitated by professionals from the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, the Community Nursing Service, the Pharmaceutical Services Unit and the Nutrition Unit, and coordinated by the Health Promotion Unit.

Heberport-P is a product that is used to treat diabetic foot ulcers. There are currently fifty-four clients receiving therapy in this regard at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
