In a show of complete solidarity, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has forgiven this country’s Petro Caribe’s debt, which was in excess of 100 million dollars.  This debt forgiveness comes on the heels of meetings held between President Nicholas Maduro and Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves; earlier this week.

Construction on the state-of-the-Art Acute Referral Hospital in Arnos Vale will begin in earnest in January of 2023. The now 82 million dollars project is expected to transform the delivery of health care in St Vincent and the Grenadines, providing critical care in many areas, including cancer treatment, dialysis, radiation and chemotherapy.

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®, stands in solidarity with the region and the international community as we grapple with the impact of COVID-19 on our way of life. The Council recognises the impact of COVID-19 on the education system in general and, more specifically, on the schedule of CXC’s regional examinations.

Schools across this country are benefitting from a generous donation of $US 120, 000.00 from the Government and people of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The second phase of distributions saw just over 20 schools receiving bursaries from the Taiwan Human Resource Development Programme here on Tuesday, 26th April, 2022 at the Georgetown Secondary School. 

The Civil Aviation sector in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines continues to be boosted and strengthened with the commercial arrival of Conviasa - the national airline of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Tuesday, 26th, April ,2022; with the air service agreement signed between both countries, the Argyle International Airport (AIA) stands as the bridge between Latin American, the Caribbean and the rest of the world for the airline.
