The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce announced a handing over ceremony for equipment under the Non-Project Grant Aid (NPGA), and the Project for Improvement of Fishery Equipment and Machinery in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, respectively.

 

The NPGA was introduced by the Government of Japan in 1987 as part of its Official Development Assistance (ODA), program and was signed on 21st May 2015 at Rodney Bay in St. Lucia during a bilateral meeting held in conjunction with the 18th Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR), meeting. The grant is provided in order to support the promotion of the economic and social development of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

 

In this respect, the Ministry wishes to advise that the handing over ceremony will be held at the National Emergency Management Organisation's (NEMO’s), premises at 2:00 p.m. on 31st October, whereas the handing over ceremony for the Fishery Equipment and Machinery will take place on Tuesday 1st November at 9:00 a.m. at Calliaqua Fisheries Complex. In this regard, the Ministry hereby extends an invitation to attend and for coverage of the handing over ceremony.

Additionally, the Ministry further wishes to advise that there will be a symbolic handing over of equipment to the Ministries of National Security and Health, and the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force during the ceremony for the Non-Project Grant Aid (NPGA).
