Welcome to the official website of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The St Vincent Grammar School is doing its part to promote food and nutrition security. This, as 42 students of the school were able to successfully raise, slaughter and dress broiler chickens for customers.

Agriculture Science Teacher Brendon Bique said the program began this academic year with students gaining both the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the rearing of broiler chickens. Bique said the students have shown great enthusiasm particularly in the practical element of the program and to have it offered to more students in the future.

Also speaking with the API was the headmaster of the St Vincent Grammar school Colin Sam who said this program forms part of the school’s thrust towards diversifying the school’s curriculum.
He said it is hoped that this program can play a role in developing the next generation of farmers who can preserve this country’s food and nutrition security.
