The Richmond Vale Academy (RVA) will be staging a Community Farmers’ Market this Saturday 30th July at Mission Corner in Chateaubelair.
Teacher at the Academy, Mr. Selwyn Patterson, spoke of the initiative during the 'Interface' program aired on NBC Radio on 26th July.
Mr. Patterson said that it is intended to give farmers in the surrounding communities an opportunity to sell their produce in a centralised location.
Student at the Academy, Mr. Johnny Munoz Aristizabal, said the initiative provides an opportunity for greater interaction between farmers and consumers.
