Newly appointed Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister Hon. Sen. Keisal Peters said she will continue to champion the ideals of this country Internationally and advocate on behalf of the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and their allies.

In an exclusive interview on the API' s Marnin SVG programme Sen. Peters said this country continues to be unwavering on issues of international policy such as Climate Change and Non-interference and as Foreign Minister, Vincentians can expect her to remain vocal and steadfast.

Speaking on her appointment, Sen. Peters said she takes her role seriously and hopes she continues to inspire women and girls to trod paths once thought reserved for men.

"I am honoured and very humbled to be part of Vincentian history...I hope that my appointment and even the one before would encourage the many young women and young men to just stay focused and pursue your dreams," Peters said.

Sen. Peters was Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade since 2020, she was appointed as this country's first female Foreign Affairs Minister on Friday, August 26, 2022.
