The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall visited Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday 20th, March, 2019.

The visit is part of a wider Commonwealth country tour to the Caribbean spanning March 17th - 29th.

Their Royal Highnesses arrived around midday on Wednesday at the Argyle International Airport. They then proceeded to the front of the airport where they greeted school children and members of the general public.

From there, the programme split as the Prince departed for the Mangroves at Brighton, while the Duchess headed to the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Community College; then to the Saint Vincent Girls High School to meet with students there.

Following his visit to the Mangroves, His Royal Highness stopped at the SVG Coast Guard for a brief engagement, and then proceeded by sea to the Kingstown Ferry berth. It is at this point that both convoys came together again and proceeded to the Cenotaph for a wreath laying ceremony.

The wreath laying ceremony was be followed by a visit to St. Georges Cathedral, then on to the Botanical Gardens for a tree planting ceremony. The final activities included a reception and an investiture ceremony at the residence of the Prime Minister where several persons who were named on the Queens New Year’s honours list received their awards. Dr. Cecil Cyrus, one of the honourees, was also be knighted at this ceremony.
