The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines officially opened the Calliaqua Town Hall building today, 3rd October.
The building was constructed by Minors Construction Ltd. at a cost of 2.5 million dollars, and carries a size of 9200 sq. ft.
The Republic of China on Taiwan funded approximately 1.7 million dollars of the construction.
A very satisfied area representative, Hon. Camillo Gonsalves, was proud to note that nowhere else within Saint Vincent and the Grenadines can boast of such a building with all of those facilities.
Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Ralph E. Gonsalves, while delivering the feature address, expressed sincere gratitude to the people of The Republic of China on Taiwan for their near 100% financing of the facility.
While addresing the gathering, the Taiwanese Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Bashun Ger, was proud to indicate that his country has had 36 years of positive partnership with the people and Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The hall comprises: a pre-school, post office, magistrate court, library, computer room and community hall.
