In quite a festive and auspicious atmosphere, the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines held an opening ceremony to launch this country's Intelligent Surveillance System - CCTV system, on Tuesday, 21st July 2020 at the Questelles Police Station. The ceremony heralded the completion of the first component of the SVG Intelligent Bus Management and Monitoring System.

The second component will consist of an Intelligent Bus Management System, which is expected to improve and enhance the lives of the travelling public in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), and the Government of the Republic Of China on Taiwan (ROC, Taiwan), signed an agreement, on 25th January 2019; to implement the Intelligent Bus Management and Monitoring System Project for SVG. The Project is being jointly implemented by the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF), of the ROC, Taiwan; Information Technology Services Division (ITSD); and the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF).

The highlights of the Ceremony were addresses from the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves; the Minister with responsibility for Information Technology, Hon. Camillo Gonsalves; Ambassador of the Republic Of China on Taiwan, His Excellency Calvin Ho; Commissioner of Police, Mr. Colin John; and the Director (Ag.) of the Information Technology Services Division, Mrs. Jacintha Fergus.  There was also the unveiling of a plaque for the Center where the system is housed.

The ceremony concluded with a tour of the Center by the media and other attendees.
