Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has welcomed a new Russian Ambassador. His Excellency, Alexander S. Kurmaz, presented his credentials to his Excellency Sir Frederick Ballantyne, Governor General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on April 17th, 2018.

 

Ambassador Kurmaz communicated his desire to work to further strengthen and solidify the existing bond between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Russian Federation and to encourage mutual support and closer collaboration. The Ambassador hosted a reception ceremony for persons involved in the cooperation between both countries with brief remarks from the Honourable Cecil McKie, Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines established diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation on September 17th, 2002 and have maintained a friendly and fruitful relationship over the years. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Russian Federation have cooperated in several areas including education and tourism and look forward to concluding a Visa Waiver Agreement to enhance people to people relations.
