Sandy Bay Clinic Receives Donation
Two Vincentians residing in the United States of America donated some medical supplies to the Sandy Bay Clinic.
Mrs. Merlene Soleyn nee Brackin and her son Sam Brackin made the donation through a relative Katrina Brackin Soleyn.
The supplies include oxygen face masks, oxygen cylinders and bandages.
Area representative Hon. Montgomery Daniel said the Brackins, who, before migrating resided in the area, were able to identify a need in the community and make a contribution.
He said he was grateful for the donation adding that the cost of medical care is expensive, hence the reason behind government seeking assistance from the Cuban government in the form of medical doctors residing and working in rural areas.
This, he said, aided in government's commitment to improve health care for Vincentians.
On hand to witness the handing over of the medical supplies were the Nurse Supervisor of the District Sister Rosita King, members of her staff and members of the community.
