ROAD DAMAGE AT WELCOME

Parliamentary Representative for West St. George Hon. Mike Brown recently visited his constituency to look at the problem of land slippage of the road at Sadie's at the entrance of Welcome village.

The land slippage caused by recent heavy rains has caused significant damage to the road and according to Minister Brown if the problem is not addressed urgently continuous rainfall will eventually cause the road to be totally cut off.

Hon. Mike Brown said in his assessment it will not be a very expensive project. He said the wall which borders the road will have to be extended and backfilled so that there is a solid entrance to the community.

He said that if the road is not repaired soon there will be no vehicular traffic into or out of Welcome.
