MEETING ON DIGITAL CONTENT MANAGEMENT FOR LIBRARIANS AND INFORMATION SPECIALISTS
St. Vincent and the Grenadines hosted a meeting on digital content Management for Librarians and Information specialists earlier today (May 15th).
The meeting was convened at the Foreign Affairs conference room with representatives from nine Caribbean countries - Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Grenada, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Caribbean Development Bank, CARDI, ECLAC and the University of the West Indies.
Chief Caribbean Knowledge Management Centre Sandra John said the objective of meeting was to explore the changing role of librarians and information specialists in the context of a Caribbean information Society, particularly as this relates to managing digital content to facilitate better decision making.
The meeting looked at knowledge management in an electronic environment, the Caribbean knowledge management portal and digital collection.
A workshop on the knowledge management in the public sector is scheduled for tomorrow (May 16th) at the Foreign Affairs conference room.
