CBN CONTRIBUTES TO SPORTS AND CULTURE IN ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES

The Canadian based Firm Canadian Bank Note, today, handed over a cheque of 750,000 dollars to aid in the construction of a 1.5 million dollar facility by the National Lotteries Authority at the Victoria Park.

The facility will house cultural entities and provide a venue for cultural events, with emphasis on the Arts. It is expected to have a holding capacity of 650 persons.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves says the facility is a symbol of the movement of the Government in reclaiming and building a Caribbean civilization. He praised the work of the National Lotteries Authority, noting that it has an impeccable reputation in the management of finances.

The Canadian Bank Note has been in partnership with the National Lotteries Authority since its inception in 1984. The firm deals with security software, identification and security systems, border control systems and anti-counterfeit software. It is also responsible for security features of the new machine readable passports.

Representative of the Canadian Bank Note Firm, Craig Bascombe says the firm is pleased to contribute to St Vincent and the Grenadines and will continue to do business here as well as in the rest of the Caribbean and Latin American countries which are their largest clientele.

Chairman of the National Lotteries Authority Murray Bullock says the contractual arrangements between Canadian Bank Note and the National Lotteries Authority is an excellent partnership that contributes to the growth of the Company. The National Lotteries Authority employs a total of 133 persons with annual revenues of over 20 million dollars.
